Sears was the worst repair experience ever. - washing machine


Here's the timeline of our repair experience. Our washer fails middle of January. I call sears to schedule a repair appointment.

January 28--Repair scheduled but technician calls and says he can't make it to the house.
January 30--They had a cancellation and was able to send a technician. He "repairs" the washer and charges me $75.

Two days later the washer fails again with the same error codes it's been given. I then call for another repair thinking they would send somebody ASAP. Nope, the earliest date is February 15. I'm supposedly put on a high priority list that will be called when there are cancellations. I received no phone calls.

February 15--Technician comes but washer doesn't fail while he is here. It fails 30 minutes after he left. I call his cell phone and leave a voicemail but never hear back from him. In the meantime, he supposedly has set up another appointment for February 23. I calls Sears support that evening to try and get a sooner appointment. The representative attempts to call the dispatch office but tells me they are closed for the evening but that somebody would call me in the morning.

February 16--I receive no phone call. I call them about noon and the representative tells me there are no appointments available until February 25. I try to confirm the February 23 appointment but he tells me there is no record of that appointment. I email Sears telling them that I would like my $75 refunded and that I will just call a local repair company. They write back telling me they are happy to cancel my order but refuse to refund the $75 diagnostic fee even though they never diagnosed the problem with my washer.
